Rahul Jallapalli — Software Engineer, Java · Spring Boot · Flutter
Software engineer who owns the real-time token-signing, push-delivery
and OTP verification paths of a Java 21 and Spring Boot 3 multi-tenant
backend (180 REST controllers, 185 JPA entities), and holds production
ownership of the 95,000-line Flutter field-service platform on top of
it, shipped to the Apple App Store and Google Play. Experience spans JWT
and Spring Security, Quartz scheduling, real-time video with in-house
Agora token signing, offline-first SQLite synchronisation, Google Maps
live tracking, on-device Tesseract OCR, and AWS S3 and Textract document
pipelines deployed as a Docker image on EC2.
Published apps
- Serveiz — field-service operations. Primary engineer, 540 of 727 commits, 52 store builds. Live on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
- MIDC — healthcare field app for Metro Infectious Disease Consultants. Backend and mobile contributor. Live on Google Play.
- DIMS — carried through Apple App Store submission end to end as release engineer.
- NNIMS — Bluetooth Low Energy beacon scanning, with native iOS and Android BLE bridged into a Flutter client and readings ingested by the Spring Boot platform. Backend and mobile engineer. Distributed internally, no public listing.
Experience
Software Engineer — Swensa (September 2022 – Present, Hyderabad, India)
- Owns three backend systems end to end in the Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.2 multi-tenant service: the in-house Agora token-signing service, Firebase Cloud Messaging delivery with de-duplication, and OTP verification — across 79 commits in a 180-controller, 185-entity codebase.
- Own the Serveiz Flutter client of 554 Dart files and roughly 95,000 lines, shipped through 52 production builds to both app stores; authored 540 of the repository's 727 commits.
- Contribute to MIDC, the healthcare field app serving over 100 physicians, including OTP verification through the MIDC SMS gateway.
- Build NNIMS, a Bluetooth Low Energy beacon-scanning application, across both ends — native iOS and Android BLE bridged into the Flutter client through platform channels, and the Spring Boot endpoints that ingest the readings.
- Run iOS release engineering: signing, provisioning, TestFlight and App Store review.
- Built real-time video assistance with live annotation over the stream using Agora RTC, with server-signed tokens, CallKit full-screen call UI and APNs VoIP push.
- Designed an offline-first SQLite data layer so captures survive total connectivity loss and reconcile on reconnect.
- Shipped live GPS tracking and route rendering with the Google Maps platform.
- Integrated on-device Tesseract OCR and barcode scanning with client-side media compression for low-bandwidth uploads.
- Built a localisation pipeline merging server-delivered strings into bundled English and Spanish catalogues.
- Wrote device-level integration test suites for task, work-order and inventory journeys.
- Drove crash-free users from 98.9% at build 30 to 99.7% at build 52, using the Firebase Crashlytics signal to find and fix notification and call-handling defects.
Selected work
Multi-Tenant Service Backend
Java 21 and Spring Boot 3.2 service covering work-order lifecycle, inventory, scheduling, document generation, payments and push delivery across customer tenants. Spring Security, JWT, JPA, MySQL, Quartz, MapStruct, Caffeine, AWS S3, AWS Textract, Stripe, OpenAPI.
Field-Service Mobile Platform
Flutter application for field technicians covering work orders, evidence capture, inventory and remote expert video assistance. Flutter, Dart, GetX, SQLite, Dio, Agora RTC, Google Maps, Firebase, Tesseract OCR.
Natural-Language Data Assistant
Question-answering endpoint over customer service data, with tenant scope enforced server-side and request-id tracing across the Java and Python tiers.
Writing
- Sign your own real-time tokens — why an Agora token broker belongs inside the service that owns the domain.
- Offline-first is a data-layer decision — moving the source of truth onto the device rather than patching the UI.
- Order your Dockerfile by what changes — layer caching for an image carrying an OCR and AWS toolchain.
- The endpoints that run before a token exists — designing the unauthenticated surface of a multi-tenant Spring Boot service.
